Listing of Red Faction: Guerrilla Remastered Draws Attention

It Might Have Been a mistake, but Chances Are Slim

We are deep into the lifespan of video games as a whole, and as the technology gets better, more remasters arrive. In our latest findings it seems another oldie but goodie, Red Faction: Guerrilla, is making its way to the current generation of consoles. A leaked listing by GameStop has sparked plenty of rumors.

The GameStop listing originally drew attention on Reddit. It was one of those baffling moments that solicited speculation, especially since a remaster of Red Faction: Guerrilla was never announced. According to the original post, GameStop Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway had the listing go live before someone realized a mistake was made. But it can’t be a coincidence that the listings went live in these countries, especially since the game publisher, THQ Nordic AB, is based out of Sweden. Hence, it’s all but confirmed that a remaster is on its way.

After drawing attention, the GameStop listings were taken down. While they were up, they revealed support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Still, we must take the rumors of a remaster with some grain of salt and stay true to the motto: Nothing is confirmed until it is confirmed. However, THQ Nordic did bring back the original Red Faction, so a remaster of the sequel seems plausible. But, what do you think? Comment down below.

“Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.”
