Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Details Revealed
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the next exciting title from Naughty Dog and while it may be a standalone title, it has been revealed that the game will boast a lengthy story adventure that will compare to the Nathan Drake experiences in the previous 4 Uncharted games.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has won a lot of different awards at the various award shows since it’s release, but recently, after winning the Best Game Award at the BAFTA’s, Naughty Dog Director of communication, Arne Mayer, spoke with IBTimes about the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Mr. Mayer teased that the length of the game will be approximately 10 hours long!
When asked how Naughty Dog transitioned Uncharted: The Lost Legacy from a DLC to a standalone title, Mayer stated that the development team could not contain their creativity and all of their ideas for The Lost Legacy made the game’s length close to 10 hours in length. Arne Mayer had this to say, “Years ago, when we were asked if we were ever doing a single player expansion for Uncharted we always said, ‘Well, we don’t have the self-discipline to do that’. If we tried to do that we’d create a full game. There’s no way we could, sort of, constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what was happening here. When we were doing story pitches, we were coming up with a game that would be over 10 hours long and so we suddenly realized everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short.”
This story length should be exciting news for fans and newcomers alike, as it seems like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be a unique title, as it started originally as an expansion, or DLC, for the Uncharted series, and is now set to be its own game! With The Lost Legacy starring two kick-ass characters in Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, Nathan Drake won’t be making an appearance and while this may seem like a disappointment to some, Naughty Dog will have no problem making this just as much of an extravagant game as the previous Uncharted games, especially with the game length!
Of course it remains to be seen how long this newest title will actually be, but if this does end up being the last of the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog will likely want to make the most out of the game, giving fans a huge, epic adventure! While there is no release date set for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy yet, it is scheduled to launch later this year on PlayStation 4!
