Witcher Card Game Gwent Beta on PS4 Starts Tomorrow
Couldn’t get enough Gwent while playing The Witcher 3? Itching for more card combat? Well, you’re in luck. The Gwent beta for the PS4 is starting this weekend.
From March 31st to April 2nd, PS4 owners will have a chance to play Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. Players will build a deck and run through the tutorial before getting into online matches. According to CD Projekt RED, the focus of the beta will be testing server capacity. According to the official Q&A “the game is already fun,” meaning they aren’t looking to implement any balance tweaks or changes.
Beta participants will not need PS Plus to play, although they will require about 3 GB of hard drive space. Microtransactions will also be turned off for this incarnation of the game. The Beta starts at 10 am PST tomorrow and will end at 11 pm PST on April 2nd. CD Projekt RED has already run similar server tests on PC and Xbox One. An official release date hasn’t been announced, but we’re hopefully getting the game very soon. If anything, the fact that they’re mostly just testing server capacity is a sign that we’ll be getting our Gwent fix shortly.
