Time to Get Frosty
The lives of many are on your hands. However, everything is against you. Political tension, civil strife, and of course, the weather itself all threaten the existence of mankind. It’s time for a frosty foray into a new world. Today, 11 Bit Studios is happy to announce the launch of the limited beta for their upcoming city builder, Frostpunk 2. The sequel to the  award-winning city-builder, Frostpunk 2 is inviting players to return the unique mix of narrative, strategy, and emotional stakes that make the game unique. Now, players who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game will have access to a week long beta. Importantly, the beta allows players to experience the utopia sandbox builder, at least in part.
Frostpunk 2 place players in the role of Steward of the City. In this sequel, the frozen weather has been somewhat managed. Yet, the threats to the city now come from within. As the Steward players will need to manage the citizens of the city, ensuring their needs are met. However, the concept of ideology plays a major role. Players will be responsible for managing the jobs, laws, and policies that make the city thrive. Now, it is up to the people to determine their future. As different factions seize influence, players will need to find a balance. Importantly, the main objective remains the same: the city must stand.Â
Interestingly, the limited beta provides players with around 40% of Frostpunk 2 to explore. However, players should be ready as the scope of the game is much larger than its predecessor. Players can check out a new developer commentary trailer for a glimpse of what awaits them.Â
Frostpunk 2 is releasing in 2024 for PC on Steam. Importantly, the beta is running from April 15th-27th.
