We Are Looking at the Resurgence of Funcom’s Beloved Secret World
For five years, Funcom has managed the strings of The Secret World, delivering their best MMO experience to players. As a fun mash of compelling myth in the modern day, the game has survived as a PC contender and, apparently, devs are unwilling to let the experience wane. As a matter of fact, The Secret World shall reemerge as Secret World Legends.
Everything is changing for the better: revamped combat, updated visuals, and a new progression system. Funcom is working on improving the experience by at least two-fold, and making their MMO better fit for this generation. Furthermore, Secret World Legends will arrive with 100 hours of free-to-play story telling. Keep in mind, these are mature narratives with no holds barred but at no cost. Go it alone or with a friend since this is, after all, a multiplayer game with heavy emphasis on storytelling.
Secret World Legends offers a gracious “welcome back” to fans, but also opts to establish a reformed player base of newcomers. Every player gets access to the myriad of weapons for waging a secret war against supernatural entities. With so much to explore and so many ways to engage the world, utilizing wits and tactics, Secret World Legends caters to true fans of RPG.
“One of our biggest goals in relaunching the game has been to reimagine the core gameplay experience in a way befitting a modern-day action RPG,” said Scott Junior, executive producer. “Secret World Legends features combat that feels more natural, deep systems that are more intuitive, better structuring of the early game for new players, and improved mission flow to strengthen the pace of progression for players.”

Even with enhanced game design and better immersion, the resurgence of Secret Worlds acknowledges room for improvement and will likely entail more, never-before-seen content following the game’s release.
