Mass Effect: Andromeda Release Date Officially Announced
Fans, rejoice! The epic next installment in the Mass Effect franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda has an official release date. The game will see release in North America on March 21 with an international release following two days later on March 23.
Revealed via a blog post on the game’s official site, BioWare General Manager, Aaryn Flynn called the upcoming release the ‘most ambitious Mass Effect game to date’ which really is no surprise based on what we’ve already seen. He also promised a ‘tremendous graphical jump’ from the original trilogy… in other news the sky is blue, water is wet, and Santa Claus is fat.
Flynn also let us know that a few members from the BioWare studio actually took copies of Mass Effect: Andromeda home over the big holiday break to put the game through its paces. They want to ensure that the game is fully ready for release. He noted that the feedback had been solid with strong endorsements from studio members, many of whom had played key roles in the original trilogy. If he was looking for discerning eyes he probably couldn’t have gone anywhere better.
While the March 21st release date had been rumored after some retail listings and an art book release it’s still nice to have the 100% confirmation in our pockets. Andromeda was originally scheduled for 2016 but suffered delays during development. We’d much rather have a complete game shipped with little to no bugs so taking the extra time was probably a great idea.
Keep it locked to COGconnected as we near release for more information. Upon the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda we’ll have a full review (video review, as well) for your reading pleasure.
