Ubisoft Rumoured to be Making “Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids” for Switch Launch
New claims have been made about the Switch’s lineup of games, with a Raving Rabbids Mario RPG supposedly in the works by Ubisoft. Honestly, we did not see this coming when Nintendo announced that the Switch would be supported by a large number of third parties, but okay.
The report was received by Laura Dale (who has been receiving several other Switch leaks as of late) with LetsPlayVideoGames by sources from within both Ubisoft and Nintendo. The sources claim that the Switch will launch with a game called “Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids” as a working title. It will be a turn-based RPG developed by Ubisoft under the watchful eye of Nintendo, who is ensuring that the Mario brand and characters are being represented as per Nintendo’s internal specifications.
The game’s plot will feature an invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom by good and bad Raving Rabbids, with a new Rabbid Bowser acting as the main antagonist. Yoshi and a playable Rabbid character will both be in the player’s party, alongside a number of several other characters.
This Mario RPG title will have a demo out for the press when Nintendo reveals the game and its trailer in January.
