New Reports of Mario Game, Skyrim Port, and Splatoon Bundle for Switch

Rumours of a 3D Mario Game, a Skyrim Port, and a Splatoon Bundle for the Nintendo Switch Have Surfaced

Nintendo has not yet officially announced anything about the games of its upcoming Switch console, but the leaks keep coming with more reports of a new Mario game. Laura Dale of Let’sPlayVideoGames has received information from Nintendo insiders that aligns with our earlier post on the Switch’s upcoming lineup, and reveals new titles as well.

The report claims that a new Mario game will be available at launch for the Switch, and the title is the very same one that was shown in the Switch reveal trailer. The game is said to feature a main 3D open world hub, much like the Super Mario Galaxy series, from which players will be able to choose separate worlds to complete objectives in. Dale reports that each stage will be linear, aligning with what was shown in the Switch trailer. The Mario game will be a Switch launch title for all territories, and a demo for members of the press to play in January 2017 is currently in development.

While Bethesda has not confirmed the Skyrim port (even though the game is clearly in the Switch trailer), drawing from her sources, Dale is confident that the port will be available as a launch title. It will be the remastered version of the game and will have limited mod support post-launch, similar to the stipulations on the PS4.

A  new version of Splatoon has also been reported for the Switch. It will come bundled with the console as a more expensive SKU, and will feature a new local 1 vs. 1 player mode.
