Last week we reported on a snafu in the Xbox Store Black Friday sale that promoted The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as Xbox One Backward Compatible. The Major was quick to debunk this saying that it was an error and there were no plans for the game to be joining the program anytime soon. Larry, you sneaky little liar you! As of this very moment, one of gaming’s most loved RPGs has officially joined Xbox One Backward Compatibility. That’s right, dust off your copy of Oblivion and play it on your Xbox One.
Also included in that Xbox Store snafu was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which was also denied by Major Nelson. As we mentioned when we reported on it, we honestly thought there was more truth to the mix up than not. Larry has to toe the company line and deny, deny, deny so with this release of Oblivion it further increases the chances we’ll see that Call of Duty game make an appearance soon too.
With recent additions like Burnout Paradise and the entire Mass Effect series, the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list is getting bigger and better all the time. Now if you’ll excuse us, it’s off to Cyrodiil!
