Nyko Makes Wireless Controller for the NES Classic
Last week we wrote about how the NES Classic is getting some wireless accessories, but now Nyko has announced a new wireless controller that looks similar to the wired ones, just without the fuss. With the NES Classic Edition available for purchase this Friday, this may be the controller to look at if you aren’t set on the line of accessories by My Arcade.
At only $19.99 USD, the Nyko Miniboss controller uses “SPACE-AGE Cordless Technology” to allow you to move 30 feet away from your tiny new retro console, instead of the 31 inches the pack-in controllers provide. People are already saying that the corded controllers that come with the NES Classic are too short, so the wireless accessories are looking pretty good if you wanted to play the game from the comfort of your couch.
A wireless dongle is simply attached to the controller port on the front of the NES Classic Edition, and the controller itself looks like it can be charged via a micro-USB port.
Here are the specifications for the Nyko controller:
- Precise button mashing action with complete wireless freedom
- Play cord-free up to 30 feet away
- 2 offset ergonomic face buttons
- 4-way directional pad for perfect up, down, right and occasional left movement
The miniboss controller is available this Friday, November 11th, and is available to preorder now.
