October is going to be a big month for video game releases. Honestly, with well over 70 new games coming, it can be downright overwhelming to even look at the list at all. So, we at COGconnected have done tons of difficult research, poring over the new releases, to come up with a handy guide for you, dear readers. We’ve cut out the “so-so” titles, and boiled it all down to the most essential new games you really need to know about. Cool, right?

So let’s take a look below at the Top 5 video game releases to watch for this coming month!

1. Mafia III – October 7th, PS4, Xbox One, PC:  Leave this one off our list? Fugettaboutit! Some games get a lot of hype – and some games fail to live up to said hype (not naming names, hehe). But Mafia III will be the real deal. How do we know? We’ve already seen lots of footage and gameplay, and unless those videos have been completely off (again, not naming names), Lincoln Clay’s adventure in New Bordeaux looks like it is going to be one awesome – and bloody – ride. 2. 1000 Ft. Robot Golf – October 10th, PS4, PSVR: Ok, 1000Ft. Robot Golf might not fit the usual definition of a “blockbuster” release – it’s just a party-game golf title, after all. But of course, what makes this title special is that it is one of the first releases for the PSVR. And the PSVR is (if pre-order figures are anything to rely on) shaping up to be a blockbuster release. Plus, 1000Ft. Robot Golf does look bloody awesome – as we told you way back in 2015 when we took a look at the PSVR’s roster. Plus, when else will you get a chance to basically be Godzilla and wreck an entire city?
