ReCore A Failure?
We knew ReCore was in trouble when we reviewed the game last month. With such high expectations, we expected the game would score higher than a 70. Sure it had fun combat, an engaging lead character, cool customizable corebots, and a big world to explore filled with challenges but the technical issues were just awful. Today, some sales figures were released and not surprisingly, the numbers released are not flattering at all.
The action-adventure platform game from Microsoft Studios – ReCore – sold 56,733 units first week at retail, according to VGChartz. First week sales can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending September 17. Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in the US with 32,162 units sold (57%), compared 15,537 units sold in Europe (27%). The game also sold 1,078 units in Japan (2%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 5,745 units in the UK, 2,165 units in Germany, and 2,805 units in France.
ReCore released for the Xbox One and Windows PC in North America on September 13, on September 15 in Japan, and on September 16 in Europe.
