Xbox One S Has Started Shipping
Yesterday, we reported the latest system update for Xbox One and the Xbox app started rolling out. Cortana is now on Xbox One, and Background Music is available through music apps like Pandora. These updates arrived just in time for the new Xbox One S. In fact, the 2TB launch edition is available on Tuesday, August 2. Today we learned, Microsoft has started sending out emails to those who pre-ordered the 2TB version of its Xbox One S console, informing them that shipments have begun. The $399 version of the console should begin arriving on Tuesday, August 2.
Xbox One S is the most compact Xbox yet, 40 percent smaller than the original Xbox One, and includes a built-in power supply. Xbox also shifted one of the three USB ports and the pairing button to the front of the Xbox One S alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility. Beyond the fresh new design, Xbox One S is the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). That means you’ll get to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in the clearest, most realistic video possible.
Xbox One S also comes bundled with the new Xbox Wireless Controller featuring textured grip, improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth support. The controller can be purchased as a standalone item for $74.99 CAD and will also be available on August 2. All Xbox One games, accessories and Xbox Live services will work with Xbox One S.
If you aren’t one of the lucky ones to get a new Xbox on Tuesday, Xbox also recently announced the first set of 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S bundles, the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle and the Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle. Both bundles arrive in stores on August 23 and are available for pre-order.
