PokeDates Has Arrived, No Joke
Entrepreneurs all over the place are doing anything they can to take advantage and capitalize on the craze. A week ago we saw a Pokemon GO Uber-style ride service and now we see something a little different. That’s right, today a new dating service focused on Pokemon GO has landed on the web.
The PokeDates service brings together relationship seekers who are into playing the massively popular social media game. According to the website, PokeDates are “curated” based on answers on a questionnaire. The service comes into play by taking the information you provide when signing up and putting you with someone who should be a good fit for you. Questions that are asked, and it helps to be honest here, include availability (your preferred time of day), area (are you willing to travel?) and other details. The website says:
“PokeDates is powered by Project Fixup, a fun and convenient way to meet someone new (whether or not you play Pokemon GO!) At Project Fixup, we believe that dating should be about getting out there, meeting new people, and enjoying the world around… not sitting on your computer browsing, swiping, and messaging back and forth. Project Fixup is about OFFline dating, and saving you the hours of time you would spend online to end up with the same date. Project Fixup is for anyone that is single and up for getting fixed up! We cater to all ages, races, and gender identities.”
The first date is free and subsequent dates after that require a $20 fee. We aren’t sure if only males are charged as that is commonplace with other dating services that have fees. You can also earn free dates by referring friends to the service.
