Red Dead Redemption Heading to Xbox One if Store Page Update is to be Believed
Thanks to some eagle eyed Reddit users we now have some information that leads us to believe that we’ll see Rockstar favorite Red Dead Redemption heading to Xbox One soon enough. The update to the Xbox store page indicated that the game would be compatible across all Xbox devices. At this point in time that would mean the Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox One S.
The store page update added an “Available On” portion which would very likely indicate that Red Dead Redemption will be playable on the Xbox One and Xbox One S within the next few months, perhaps even sooner. We very much expect that a formal announcement of the game’s availability as part of the backwards compatibility program is only a short time away. The fact that Red Dead Redemption was already playable recently in the Xbox One Preview program only further cements the odds of this happening sooner rather than later. Of course as soon as this was discovered the rumor mill started churning extra hard; could RDR be part of the Games with Gold program in July? We know (and by know I really mean assume) that it’s only a matter of time before we get a Red Dead Redemption 2 reveal so perhaps the original game might be part of a pre-order incentive too.
As it stands this is something we’ll be keeping an eagle eye on here at COGconnected. With the imminent announcement of the July games for Games with Gold, this could be Microsoft’s chance to take the subscription service win for the month over PS Plus. What do you think readers? Could our dreams of Red Dead Redemption heading to Xbox One be only a short time away? We can only hope!
