PS4 Neo Weaker Than Xbox One Scorpio
Sony did not show off the PlayStation 4 Neo at E3 this year but this hasn’t slowed down the rumour train one little bit. Yesterday, we reported the PS4 Neo will arrive this year. Today, we discovered a new SKU is under development; however, according to reports its specs won’t be any better than that of the Xbox One Scorpio.
The Xbox One Scorpio will be able to handle virtual reality, 4K games and it packs a whopping six teraflops of power. This makes Project Scorpio the most powerful system on the market when it releases fall 2017. Much about the PS4 Neo is still a mystery; although, according to reports it will have decent boosts to its GPU, CPU and Memory. This according to industry insider Tidux.
Tidux also says the Neo will have a smart design which allows developers to scale their games accordingly on the PS4 and Neo. The developers apparently “love” the boost in the GPU and just like the Xbox One Scorpio it will be up to them whether they want to scale up already released games on the Neo.
According to Tidux, the Neo will also have a 4K Blu Ray drive which could mean games will at least be upscaled to 4K resolution.
This information should be taken with a grain of salt but Tidux has a decent track record. So don’t be shocked if all of this turns out to be true.
