Anton Yelchin Killed In Strange Accident
According to a posting by the Associated Press and TMZ, the JJ-verse has lost one of its most promising talents. The reboot iteration of Chekov – 27 year old actor Anton Yelchin – was discovered at his home around 1AM by friends, having been pinned between his car and mailbox at his San Fernando Valley home. His death has been confirmed by his publicist, and foul play is not suspected by the authorities.
Yelchin was born in 1989 in Russia, making his acting debut on E.R. before being cast in Alpha Dog, Star Trek, Terminator: Salvation, and more. The news places a cloud over the already troubled Star Trek Beyond, but more importantly, he will be sorely missed in the industry.
