Rockstar “Hard At Work” On New Games That Will Be Announced “Soon”
In an incredibly intriguing piece of news, Rockstar’s parent company, Take Two Interactive announced during their earnings report that the developers of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption are “hard at work” on new titles that will be announced “soon”. Considering just how close we are to E3, the timing seems almost too good to be true. Naturally, Take-Two decided to leave it at that, and wouldn’t provide any further information, but due to recent events surrounding Rockstar, it certainly seems like we could be due for a huge announcement, and E3 could always use more hype-fuel for the hype-train. The map below was leaked on Neogaf’s forums, but it also shares reference to a location in upcoming title Mafia 3, so whether or not its related to a new title in the Red Dead series is still very much up in the air.
Red Dead Redemption was an incredibly pleasant surprise for many, and seeing Rockstar flex its creative muscle in new ways is always a treat, because it shows that Rockstar isn’t just a one trick pony. Take-Two’s also announced that their presence for E3 this year is purported to be “big”, and it will definitely add hype to the fire that E3 is shaping up to be this year. Take-Two had a lean year, by comparison to previous years, which is to be expected considering they released titles that didn’t quite have the impact that GTA V did. Among other top performers for the year were NBA 2K15 and 2K16, as well as XCOM 2, all helping ease the pain of a slower economic year, but with a new announcement up in the air, the factors are all seeming to indicate that Rockstar, or Take-Two at the very least, may have something to announce.
Aside from information on the next Grand Theft Auto title, or possible sequel to Red Dead Redemption, just what could Take-Two have up it’s sleeves? Let us know what you think in the comments!
