A new Godzilla: Resurgence trailer stomps the doubters in classic retro style
Godzilla (or as the Japanese call him, “Gojira“). For those too young to remember – aka the original O.G. Kaiju. Having fallen on some hard times since the glory days of the 50s and 60s, the legendary giant-monster franchise is looking to return to form with a reboot by the original Japanese company, Toho at the helm. And if anyone was wondering whether the new Godzilla: Resurgence would measure up to expectations (we’ve had our hearts crushed like model skyscrapers a few times now), a new Trailer just rose out of the sea and screamed in our faces: “Hell Yeah!”
Apparently combining modern CGI with some good-old models and – gasp – creativity, the Trailer shows off a new Godzilla that is old in all the right ways, and makes the little kid in all of us pee our pants with terrified joy. The new movie is reportedly being named “Shin Godzilla” (Godzilla Resurgence), and has a plot that centers around a giant monster and the reaction by a city’s residents (what a shocker!). It is set to come out July 29th of this year.
