Battleborn Open Beta Available Now on PS4, PC and Xbox One

The Battleborn Open Beta is now live for everyone, and we have all the details for you right here

Today, 2K and Gearbox Software announced that, after a timed exclusive to the PS4, the Battleborn Open Beta is available today at 10:00am PT on all three platforms; PS4, PC and Xbox One. It includes two full story episodes, “The Algorithm,” and “Void’s Edge,” which can be played in up to 5-player co-op, as well as two Competitive Multiplayer Modes: Incursion and Meltdown.

Open Beta Players will start with seven unlocked heroes, while others will unlock with from rank advancement and completing objectives, letting participants experience the natural progression of the game while unlocking heroes, skins, taunts, titles, and more. Additionally, by joining in the fight to save the last star in the universe, Open Beta players can earn exclusive skins from achieving group challenges.

If you are a PS4 player, you will receive some special incentives. As a “thank you” to PS4 players who participate in the Open Beta, those players will receive the first Battleborn DLC Pack 1 and instant access to Alani upon release. In addition, PS4 players will apparently have access to the Battleborn hero, Toby (the mech-driving penguin!), during the Open Beta.

WHEN IS IT? April 8 to April 18

  • April 8th at 10am PST (5pm UTC) – PS4
  • April 13th at 10am PST (5pm UTC) – PS4, PC, and Xbox One
  • Open Beta ends April 18th at 7am PST (2pm UTC)

WHEN IS IT in Asia? April 9 to April 18

  • PS4:  April 9th at 1AM GMT +8
  • PS4, PC, and Xbox One:   April 14th at 1AM GMT +8
  • PS4, PC, and Xbox One:  Open Beta ends April 18th at 10PM GMT +8

In case you are not up on the game, it’s a team-based shooter that has some traits of a MOBA. There are 25 characters to choose from, characters, with five more on the way for free following the full game’s launch.
