Attack on Titan 2 Video Review – Too Much More of the Same

Attack on Titan 2 Video Review

If this is your first glimpse into the world of the popular anime Attack on Titan, you might want to take a deep breath before you go any further. The hit anime series made its way to video games in 2016 and fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since. Fast forward a few short years and we find ourselves once again in the grips of the Titans: massive, humanoid creatures who love the idea of biting you in half. Unlike traditional monster movie tropes where the enemy is a giant beast, the Titans are essentially very creepy versions of humans, which makes their towering, naked, presence a little more unsettling than a mass of scales.

Series protagonists Eren, Mikasa, and Armin return to continue their vengeance on the Titan race responsible for the death of their parents. So what makes Attack on Titan 2 stand out from the base game? Well, for our thoughts on this hotly anticipated sequel, check out the video review below.

Attack on Titan 2 continues the story where the first game leaves off; following Eren, Mikasa, and Armin on their quest for vengeance. The game features character customization, however, their level of interaction with the main cast is minimal at best. Gameplay is relatively the same as the original, with a few modes offered for both offline and online play. While the game does remain true to the source material, it does little – if anything – to expand on the series as a whole. Avid fans of Attack on Titan would enjoy the game, but if you’ve played the first one, don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
