12 Characters We Need in Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch

4. Frisk – Undertale

Nintendo announced the arrival of Undertale to the Switch at the recent Nintendo Direct and I know that this is a greatly beloved game. Maybe it’s just a weird feeling, but Undertale seems like the right kind of game to add to the mix. Not only would playing as Frisk have a ton of offensive possibilities, but an Undertale stage would be fantastic to play on. While it’s not likely to happen, the potential there simply cannot be ignored. Frisk would have the potential to play as a wildcard as literally anything could happen.

3. Noctis – Final Fantasy XV

Now, granted we have already done the Final Fantasy guest character – and boy did that catch us off guard – but there is something profoundly different about Final Fantasy XV. Not only has it received a chibi treatment to run on mobile, but it’s had a successful if quirky crossover with Assassins Creed Origins as well. Add to that the accidental advertisement by GameStop of Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition making its way to Switch – an add promptly removed – and its not entirely out of the question to have this stylish and badass protagonist jump into the mix. Noctis sword skills are great, and having an ability to summon his companions for assistance would be pretty great too. Is it really so far-fetched?

2. Inklings – Splatoon series

Is there really a doubt at this point? I mean, the REVEAL for Smash Bros on Switch came during an Inkling fight. Not only do they already have a full line of functional Amiibos – a staple for Smash Bros – but fans have been dying to get them into Smash for years. With a varied arsenal, colorful characters, and a killer attitude, these bratty kids are the essence of what a Smash Bros entry needs to have. If anyone on this list is getting into Smash this year, it will be the Inklings.

1. Solaire – Dark Souls

Even typing that gave me chills. Dark Souls is not a game for the weak hearted, yet it’s finding its way onto the Switch soon – alongside a Solaire amiibo. Including Solaire in the game would be huge, adding even more players to the already massive fan base of Smash Bros and quite possibly encouraging Smash players to try Dark Souls. Solaire would easily play as a sword and shield character and would be one of the easier ones to transition into Smash Bros as opposed to someone like Travis or BJ. Not only would it be fantastic to play as Solaire, the accompanying Dark Souls themed stage could be iconic, and getting him to host or be the final boss of something like All-Star mode would be phenomenal. Wouldn’t you love to eliminate Solaire in a match and instead of the usual explosion over the characters name it just briefly said “You Died” ?
