Try out Winds of Arcana: Ruination
The Indian developer Brewed Games has launched a free demo version of Winds of Arcana: Ruination on Steam. You can dive right into it on the platform and get a first-hand experience of the game. The official release date will be announced soon as well, so stay tuned for more updates.
Winds of Arcana: Ruination is a 2.5D Metroidvania that features deep combat and build customization. All the while preserving the soul of Metroidvania with exploration in interconnected levels, platforming, and traversal upgrades.
The game lays heavy emphasis on letting players build their ideal combat playstyle with three awesome weapon classes. This includes Swords, Hammers, and Chakrams. You can unlock more passive powers the more you use that weapon. The demo contains one weapon from each class, though you will need to find them yourself.
Not only that, it also adds a magical touch with a unique feature called Soul Crests. These are arcane artefacts that belong to legendary warriors of yore a long time ago. You can equip them to cast devastating magic powers that can turn the tide of the battle. In the demo, players can access this feature and upgrade it to its maximum level.
The levels of Winds of Arcana: Ruination is designed to encourage players to explore and find hidden shortcuts, secrets, and more. The full game will even feature traversal items called Artifices that can be used to upgrade the traversal ability. Some of them are based on skill, like the bash-grapple artifice, a glider artifice, etc.
