The Sequel Shows Signs of Life After Going On Hiatus
Lords of the Fallen 2 is going to be developed by the New York City-based developer Defiant Studios, according to an official announcement that was made by publisher City Interactive Games on Monday.
The sequel was originally supposed to come out last year but it probably missed that date due to City Interactive having to step back from having AAA budgets for their games after their disastrous Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 release.
Defiant Studios is lead by a former Avalanche Studios developer named David Grijns and he said that his team was “excited” to make the next Lords of the Fallen game. “We are particularly thrilled about the creative freedom that CI Games is willing to offer,” Grijns said.
“We talked to a number of globally respected studios that had shown a strong interest in making the next LotF, and received several solid pitches,” said Marek Tymiński, the CEO of City Interactive Games. “We finally decided to move forward with Defiant because we were impressed with their game concept, production expertise, and the pedigree of their developers.”
Tymiński added that Defiant Studio “is made up of some the industry’s most talented creators, and we are thrilled to have them create the sequel to LotF.”
“We look forward to bringing their next big game to the global market on consoles and PC,” he said.
He also hinted that City Interactive would soon be revealing even more games that they’ll be publishing in the future. “For the past several months we have been in discussions with many talented studios from around the world,” Tymiński said, “and will soon have more to share about the outcomes of those discussions. This marks the beginning for CI Games in terms of the games portfolio we have been building for the coming years.”
It currently isn’t known which platforms Lords of the Fallen 2 will be available on or when it’ll be coming out.
