Survive the Highway to Hell in Double Kick Heroes As It Shreds Onto Early Access

Cruise Through the Zombie Wasteland in Double Kick Heroes on April 11th

Headbang Club has announced that Double Kick Heroes, its explosive heavy metal rhythm game set in the zombie apocalypse, is finally entering Steam Early Access on April 11th.

Double Kick Heroes is a weird and inspiring mash-up of heavy metal music, rhythm-based timing, and high octane shooting. It’s basically The Walking Dead meets Guitar Hero.

Players take control of the ‘Gundillac,’ a high-speed, upgradeable vehicle equipped with some intense firepower. Manned by five hardcore metalheads — Lincoln, Snake, Derek, Randi, and James — it’s your job to survive the pursuing zombie horde by blasting them away by beating the onscreen keyboard the same way you’d beat a drumset. Players will have to get good fast by mastering the Double Kick, a drumming technique commonly used in heavy metal to speed up music, if they have any hope of surviving.

The Early Access build will come loaded with 18 composed songs by the legendary Elmobo. The final version will have a total of 30 tracks. Also included is an Arcade Mode, Story Mode, and community level editor that will allow players to design their own levels and import their own tracks.

Below is a breakdown of key features in Double Kick Heroes:

  • Double kick zombies in the face with insane metal music! Can you keep up?
  • 18 face-melting metal songs (30 at final release) by legendary video game AND metal composer, Elmobo.
  • Import your own music, play community designed tracks, edit your favorite songs and share challenges!
  • A killer, Robert Rodriguez infused background story all about being weird and living for Sex, Drugs and Heavy Metal.
  • Explosions, rebels, militias, undead, road-rage, madness, apocalypse! Nothing the Gundillac can’t handle on the fury road! Hell yeah!
