Environments Shine While Character Animations Disappoint in Darksiders III Gameplay Reveal

Darksiders III Gameplay Reveal Drops Today

Earlier this week, Darksiders III was announced and at the time we shared with you the official reveal trailer. The third installment in its Darksiders franchise is set for release next year and today IGN premiered some fresh gameplay.

Darksiders 3 Feature 1280px

Darksiders III is an action role-playing hack and slash game. Players take control of Fury, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, from a third-person perspective. Fury, a mage who is described as the most powerful of the Four Horsemen, relies on whips and magic in combat. As you can see in the trailer below, you get a good glimpse of Fury’s abilities as she uses her whip to get across a large ravine, before grabbing onto ledges, making her way past an ally and activating some sort of elevator that takes her to another level. The sequel is still in an early development state but so far the environments look fantastic while clearly the animations could use some tweaking. Regardless, it is still pre-alpha and all signs point to a game that looks incredibly promising.

On May 2, 2017, a product listing for Darksiders III appeared on Amazon.com. The game was officially announced the same day by publisher THQ Nordic under development by Gunfire Games. The development team consists largely of former Vigil Games employees whose previous work includes development of the first two Darksiders games

Darksiders III will arrive next year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
