Newest Chapter in Shovel Knight Saga Gets eShop Release Dates

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment Hitting Nintendo’s eShop in the Next Week

Yacht Club Games has been so good to their fans. Not only has Shovel Knight been released on an enormous list of systems, but the developers have released two full-sized expansions, both of which are free for anyone who already owns the original game. Plague of Shadows came out for every platform at once, but Specter of Torment has had a staggered release schedule.

Shovel Knight Specter of Torment eShop release dates

Initially Specter of Torment was only available on the Nintendo Switch version of the eShop. It seemed like this timed exclusive would last forever. However, the next wave of release dates has been announced by Yacht Club at last! Wii U owners will get the expansion April 21st, while 3DS players will get it on the 25th.

If you already own Shovel Knight on one of these three Nintendo systems, there’s no harm in checking this out. To their credit, Yacht Club has managed to make each installment in their shoveling saga distinct. Once this expansion comes to every scheduled system, the only expansion remaining will be King Knight’s chapter. Yacht Club has made no announcements for any further expansions at this time. If you don’t own the game on a Nintendo system, take heart! Specter of Torment is out now for the PC. The expansion is eventually coming to PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and Fire TV. Have fun and ready thy shovel!
