Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Is Crowdfunding $100,000 an Hour

The Newly Launched Crowdfunding Campaign for Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Is Raising Nearly $100,000 an Hour

Following in the footsteps of Obsidian’s original Pillars of Eternity game, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire launched a crowdfunding campaign to help them kick things off. While all of this just started today at 10am PST, the campaign has raised over $500,000, averaging them just about $100,000 an hour, which is an insane feat.

The original Pillars of Eternity game raised about $4 million as opposed to its $1.1 million goal, which became the highest amount given to a crowdfunding campaign at that time. Not long after, it was beaten out by Shenmue III, which brought in a total of $6.3 million. The new Pillars of Eternity game has until Feb. 24th to reach that goal if they plan on beating out Shenmue III, but at the rate that they’re going, they might actually beat that number in no time at all.
