The Long-Awaited Oculus Touch is Finally Available

The Oculus Touch is something virtual reality gamers have been dying to get their hands on for over a year. And it’s finally here.Oculus Touch, which launched on December 6th, adds handheld support to the VR headset. The sleek, seamless design makes you feel like your hands and controllers are one, and includes precise tracking features that allow poses and gestures to come to life and adds to a player’s overall immersive experience. With over 54 new titles available with its launch, and free content included with Oculus Touch setup, Oculus fans everywhere are rejoicing.

The content included with Oculus Touch are Dead and Buried, a Wild West high-energy shoot out, Medium, which really utilizes the accuracy and 3D range of Touch by allowing the user to sculpt and share 3D objects, and Quill, an endless canvass for the player to paint on. Along with all this, Oculus First Contact will be your super nostalgia inducing sci-fi ’80s tutorial that introduces you to Touch and hand presence via an endearing robotic encounter.

If you’re iffy about throwing down hundreds of dollars for new VR hardware, or just want to try it out, Touch is available for demo at over 500 retailers in North America, France, Germany, and the UK.

To add to your virtual reality social experience, Oculus also introduced their Oculus Avatars. If you’ve got an Oculus, Kingspray, Sports Bar VR, and Toybox already provide Oculus Avatar support, so you can dive in and put that avatar to use! Meanwhile, they’re avidly working to being their feature to Gear VR, so that your awesome, virtual-self will have the same digital identity across both platforms.
