The Launch of HTC Vive Studios and Debut of Arcade Saga

HTC Vive Launches Vive Studios and Announces First Internal Game: Arcade Saga

Here to create the next generation of virtual reality content is Vive Studios, HTC’s internal VR development team. The team, composed from a variety of minds behind AAA game titles such as Fable 2Gears of Warand more, are working on new titles to bring to HTC Vive with AAA title quality.

With most titles and content currently on HTC Vive being short, independent games or immersive experiences, there’s a complete lack of AAA content. But this doesn’t mean that AAA studios have been ignoring virtual reality. They’ve been slowly but surly working on their long-term VR experiences for the new wave of gaming hardware. Vive’s newly formed studio aims bring longer, deeper experiences to players, much like the experiences that titles like the upcoming Fallout 4 VR and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will bring.

Vive Studios Arcade Saga

Vive Studios has their eyes on more than the just the gaming world. They have long term marketing and publishing plans, and intend on taking their expertise to other VR experiences, such as video, education, social, and even diving into assisting and providing a platform for tools in other industries such as realestate, sports, retail, and health care. And yes, they even plan on bringing it to arcades.

Along with announcing the launch of their studio, HTC also announced the launch of their first internal game – Arcade Saga. Arcade Saga is inspired by arcade classics like Galica, and has huge RPG potential, includes awesome gameplay and social features, and comes complete upgrade systems, global leaderboards and boss fights. The title was developed by 2 Bears Studios, with a lead team of industry vets from Microsoft Game Studios, Rockstar and Midway. Arcade Saga is now available for HTC Vive on Steam and will also be available in China through Viveport.
