Shadow of the Tomb Raider Looks Fantastic in Gameplay and Impressions Video

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Gameplay and Impressions

The Tomb Raider franchise has been on a role with its reboot, casting Lara Croft as a much more rounded (yet less rounded if you know what I mean) character that has emotional depth, thrust into terrifying, dangerous, and all around gloriously cinematic situations over the course of the last two games. The highly anticipated Shadow of the Tomb Raider is just around the corner, however, and players will once again lead Lara through brutal gameplay and fantastic genre-defining stealth mechanics that will undoubtedly be the feather in the cap to this wonderful series. Curious what the game could possibly have to offer? Check out our gameplay and impressions video below.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third entry in the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise. Lara Croft has traveled to Latin America following the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider in search of a Mayan artifact that has connections to her father. Lara accidentally sets off the events to begin the Mayan apocalypse and must now try and save the world. The game features some great new stealth and combat mechanics as well as reintroducing swimming and a number of other key features that will make this undoubtedly the best entry in the series.

In our recent hands-on preview, Mario said: “You may say that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is more of the same, and, technically, you’d be right. It’s also an upgrade. While a new story might have sufficed for a sequel, Eidos Montreal grabbed the bottle of acclaimed formula and squeezed for all its worth. They refined everything good about the first two titles and topped it off with enough creativity to potentially eclipse them.”
