Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Video Review
The Summer Olympics may be a bit far off at the moment, but what better time than to set into the latest entry in the Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games series with it’s latest entry? Keeping in line with the real-life event, Mario and Sonic and crew are off to the Tokyo Games, but with a bit of a twist this time. Mario and Sonic are in hot pursuit of Bowser and Eggman, and between a mix of modern events and “retro moments” the game certainly has a fair bit of charm. There’s a lot to get into though, so it’s probably best to just watch our video review of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and see what it’s all about.
As noted above, and a newer addition to the series, Mario & Sonic At the Olympic Games 2020 features a rather robust story mode. I’ts not overly amibitious, but it servers as a nice introduction to the myriad of events you can undertake. They aren’t all standouts, but the sheer variety of them helps offset what shortcomings the game has overall. A new feature is the aptly named “Retro Moments’, and they’re a blast to play through. De-making everything into Mario and Sonic’s retro roots, you’ll get to experience these events in story mode in a new light. There’s also the standard means of playing against people online and locally as there always has been before, but this added emphasis of Story Mode is a real treat, and hopefully they’ll expand it further in the future.
Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is out now for Nintendo Switch, but if you feel like you still need more info, why not mosey on over to the official site for extra details.
