Gran Turismo Sport Video Review – Return to the Throne

Gran Turismo Sport Video Review

It has been four years since we the last entry into the Gran Turismo series, and the wait is finally over. PlayStation’s exclusive racing simulation series was the benchmark by which future racing simulators would be judged. With an incredibly expansive career mode, tons of vehicles to choose from, and some of the most authentic driving mechanics in the industry, Gran Turismo has long been considered the definition of video game racing, so does that still hold true today with the latest entry: Gran Turismo Sport?

With Xbox One’s Forza series filling in the gap and taking control of the racing sim genre, how does the long-awaited return of Gran Turismo stack up? Check out our video review below.

Gran Turismo Sport is a more focused direction for the series, replacing the exhaustively large career mode and monumental garage with a specific look at what it means to be part of competitive racing. With roughly 150 cars, Gran Turismo Sport wants the player to experience the subtleties and nuances behind racing, discovering the strategies and skills needed for professional circuits as opposed to an all out sprint race as offered by most other racing games.

Gran Turismo Sport wants you to succeed and teaches you the proper way to race, but this also means being a polite and considerate driver. Bumping into another vehicle or being unprofessional in any way will result in a drop in your driver rating, so you’ll want to keep wary of your surroundings at all times.

Gran Turismo Sport is out now exclusively on the PlayStation 4. For more information, check out the games official website.
