Doom Eternal Is Nuts and Not a Walk in the Park at All

Hands-On Preview of DOOM Eternal at E3 2019

Lets be real here: you didn’t click on this article because you want to listen to me drone on about the sequel to the best damn shooter that came out of 2016. You didn’t come here to delve more into the narrative of an upcoming title. You came here because you want action, explosions, death, gore, and some sweet sweet heavy metal. We got your back! Be sure to keep reading after you see our gameplay and listen to our thoughts on the sure-to-be #1 shooter: DOOM Eternal.

DOOM Eternal drops you right back into the boots of the iconic Doom Slayer: the most unstoppable force of sheer badassery in the known universe. Id Software followed the mantra of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” to a T by giving us more of what we love and simply adding a few new quality of life features for locomotion and traversal skills. Yes, Doom Slayer returns with his new costume reminiscent of the older cover art we grew up with, a seriously sick wrist mounted sword, a shoulder-mounted flamethrower, and enough firepower to level the population of half a planet.

This is not the game you play for narrative. This is the game you play for high speed, thunderous music, and intense violence. You’ll rip demons in half with your bare hands, tear out their hearts, impale them with their own extremities, and so much more without even batting an eye. What more do you really need to know about DOOM Eternal?
