Erin Soares (Content Editor) – The Last of Us
While the post-apocalyptic zombie-killing premise seemed rather simple, the way the stories of Joel and Ellie intertwine together is a masterpiece in itself. There is no way someone could play through the game, without getting emotionally invested in the characters. Believe me, you will! There isn’t one negative thing to speak of where The Last of Us is concerned, and the graphics are spectacular too.

By far my favorite JRPG at the time I played it. The story was a little predictable at times, but that’s part of the charm in a JRPG. The big item for me was how vast the world was. Each zone was huge and offered many monsters of varying levels to fight. It was a sense of scale I had never felt in a JRPG. Real-time combat was also something I hadn’t experience before in a title like this, much less combat that required positional attacks. Also, the voice acting wasn’t terrible.

Alex: While Uncharted introduced us to Nathan Drake, Sully and Elena Fisher, it was the sequel that really made its mark on me. Uncharted 2 felt like this non-stop action adventure movie that many games strive to achieve but usually fall short. Definitely a thrilling game, and it’s a damn shame the sequel, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, was not nearly as enjoyable.
Ahmed: Uncharted 2 is box office, it’s brash, and it’s beautiful. The game that truly launched a video game icon and a cast of characters that PlayStation fans would come to know as family was always going to be on my list. Uncharted 2 is a perfectly paced, set-piece heavy romp and a game that has only been surpassed by its own developers in the third-person shooter sphere.
