Razer Basilisk V3 Pro Review – Feature Rich Precision

Basilisk V3 Pro Review

It’s a great time to be a PC gamer, especially when it comes to accessories. Gaming mice, keyboards, monitors and even mouse pads have never been better. There is some incredible gear out in the wild and Razer has been leading the charge. The Basilisk V3 Pro is more evidence that Razer knows what they are doing when it comes to stellar PC peripherals. The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro raises the bar when it comes to gaming mice and it’s easy to see why.

Everything from the super responsive scroll wheel to the optical switches to the lightning-fast sensor, it’s hard to find any faults with this mouse. Not to mention the slick charging dock (sold separately) makes it one of the most aesthetically pleasing accessories I’ve used in ages.

Out of the box, the Basilisk V3 Pro has everything you need to get clicking right away. I initially tested the mouse on my laptop and a PC where connectivity was instant. I was impressed with how quickly my devices recognized the mouse. Not to mention, I loved how I didn’t need to charge the mouse out of the box either. Within minutes I was set up and gaming. I should mention that you can charge your mouse with the included USB cord if the charging dock isn’t in your budget at the moment.

It’s a bigger mouse but given I am a rather meaty dude, I appreciated its girth. It weighs 112g making it one of the heavier wireless mice I have used. Yet it feels sturdy, durable, and comfortable in my hands. If you are used to a tiny mouse, it may take some getting used to but for me, it feels like the perfect size and I found it exceptionally comfortable to use. I didn’t experience any wrist strain at all.

It’s a slick-looking mouse as well. Razer’s trademark Chroma RGB lighting looks amazing. Resting on the charging dock (not included with the mouse) the Basilisk V3 Pro looks sharp from head to toe. Its all-black design isn’t anything incredibly unique but the lighting is certainly eye-popping, making it one of the best-looking mice on the market.

Did I mention it is loaded with features? The mouse is equipped with ‘HyperScroll Tilt Wheel’, ‘Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3’, 10+1 programmable buttons, ‘Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor’, wireless charging with the ‘Razer Mouse Dock Pro’ and ‘Wireless Charging Puck’ (both sold separately), and more. So you are getting plenty of bang for your buck. Yet when it comes to your bottom line, its price point is an issue for me. The mouse will cost you around $159.00 USD. That is pricey for a mouse. In Canada, that mouse will cost you over $200 bucks. You can certainly find cheaper mice on the market but you might be hard-pressed to find a mouse that is this rich in the features department for the price.

While the Chroma RGB lighting is awesome with all its countless lighting effects, its performance is second to none. It’s durable and extremely precise. It feels great in my hands and I never had any concerns with its performance. It glides nicely and responsiveness was consistent on all surfaces. If you want a mouse with exceptional control and accuracy, look no further.

The wireless Basilisk V3 Pro from Razer is without question an excellent mouse. While it’s designed for serious PC gamers, anyone looking for an amazing mouse that’ll last ages should give the Basilisk V3 Pro some serious consideration. While the price tag will raise your eyebrows and it’s a bummer the charging dock is not included, this mouse is a purchase you won’t regret. Performance and feature-wise, you are hard-pressed to find a better mouse.
