And the announcements just kept on coming… 3 – Announcement number three was a gorgeous mural created by Yoshitaka Amano called Big Bang. Square-Enix commissioned the piece, with the intention of animating it in 3D. It looked like a Sistine Chapel-style design of people and monsters not necessarily pertaining to Final Fantasy XV. I’ve gotta say I really didn’t care about this at first (wanting more FFXV details), but it looked gorgeous! Yoshitaka Amano sitting in audience, and was asked to rise to a round of applause. Then there was a video message from Nobuo Uematsu basically saying he hoped everyone would enjoy the game (this didn’t count as one of the 14 reveals). 4 – That Stand By Me cover was by Florence + The Machine, and there was a video message from Florence talking about how she loves classical music, showing the orchestral recording of the cover’s music.
5 – Three new gameplay videos were shown! The first was called Adventure and showed a desert setting, where the protagonists were TOKYO DRIFTING ON CHOCOBOS!!! The second one was called Drive, and showcased what driving in your car would be like in-game, including being able to switch to a first person camera, and Final Fantasy radio where the player can switch between classic Final Fantasy songs! The final gameplay video was called Battle, and showcased some new battle mechanic footage, including a behemoth (and surrounding environment) getting frosted by a Blizzara spell, and a very huge Titan summon. 6 – A video showcasing environment footage, which might come to be known as the “World Of Wonder” trailer. 7 – A 5 episode free online anime series called Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV was announced. It’s a prequel about Noctis and his 3 buddies, and Episode 1 is available immediately! All the episodes will be available before the release of Final Fantasy XV.
Oh my god… MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS! MORE VIDEOS!! Off to page three for the rest of the goods…
