Top Releases of April 2020
While March 2020 had the dynamic March 20th duo of Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, April 2020 has its own pair of big games. 2020 has not had a great start to the year, but hopefully, things get back on track soon. Without further ado, let us take a look at 5 of the biggest games of March 2020.
Trials of Mana – PC, PS4, Switch – Apr 24
Sequel to Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana first released in North America as a port on the Nintendo Switch as part of the Collection of Mana. Less than a year later, a 3D remake of the title is now set to release. While the game did not have the same acclaim that Secret of Mana had, it is nonetheless a decent title in its own right, and it will be interesting to see how the remake treats the source material, hopefully, better than the remake of Secret of Mana…
Gears Tactics – PC, X1 – Apr 28
If any game would translate into a decent tactics style game, it is Gears of War. While Gears 5 was undoubtedly a big improvement from 4, it was still a far departure from the original trilogy. While I’m not sure if that’s just nostalgia speaking, it may be a bit much to expect Gears Tactics to outshine the original trilogy or even the contemporary iterations. Compared with Xbox’s other big franchise, Gears Tactics could reasonably be compared to the Halo Wars series in size and scope.
