A Return to the World of Resident Evil
Resident Evil 4 – March 24
Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the 2005 title, which was already hailed as one of the best games of that generation, and arguably the best of the Resident Evil franchise. This third-person horror survival game blends horror and action beautifully, and the remake should only improve the overall package. And while you won’t find this guy likely to explore the game in VR, Resident Evil 4 will also support PS VR2.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – 2023/24
Final Fantasy is so nice that it makes this list twice. As the next part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Rebirth will surely be another massive gaming event. As Final Fantasy VII and the Remake are both monumental experiences in my gaming history, I cannot wait to jump back into this world. This Japanese role-playing game has done a swell job of integrating contemporary gaming features into a classic narrative.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – 2023
Tying together Yakuza 6, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Like a Dragon 8 together will be Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Taking a step back into the spotlight for this iteration is series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. Unlike the new direction, the series took with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, The Man Who Erased His Name returns to its beat-em-up roots.
Rise of the Ronin – 2024
Rise of the Ronin is a Team Ninja production, featuring an open-world action RPG set in late 19th-century Japan. Although the game shares some similarities at a macro-level with another Japan-set action RPG, Rise of the Ronin takes place in a much later period. With Team Ninja at the helm of this franchise, we have high expectations for a robust battle system and overall gameplay for this title.
