3. Like a Dragon: Ishin! – February 21
The Yakuza franchise is officially changing its name to Like a Dragon, which is its Japanese name. Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a remake of a Japanese-only PS3 game, that sets the series in Edo Period Japan. It will feature action gameplay closer to Yakuza 1-6, as opposed to the turn-based RPG combat of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Even though the protagonist is the historical figure Sakamoto Ryōma, he looks just like longtime Yakuza series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. Like a Dragon: Ishin! will be available for everything except the Switch.
2. Octopath Traveler II – February 24
The original Octopath Traveler was one of the great early Nintendo Switch exclusives. It was a JRPG that featured 8 protagonists, and the player could choose which one to start with, and in what order they wanted to gather the other 7. It also pioneered the HD-2D graphic style that has captured every retro game heart on the planet. Octopath Traveler II will feature all those elements but will have a brand new story that completely stands on its own. It also won’t be a Switch exclusive and will be available for both PlayStations and PC, in addition to the Switch.
