We’re Ready for Some PlayStation 4 Fun
Without a doubt 2018 packed some heavy heat with games including God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Detroit: Become Human, and Red Dead Redemption 2. As we celebrate the beginning of a brand new year, it’s time to look at some of the biggest and brightest titles coming our way. This year, without a doubt, there are plenty of great games to look forward to and while it was tough, we’ve picked the top 10 PlayStation 4 games to keep your eyes peeled for in 2019.
Kingdom Hearts III (January 29)
Finally, over 13 years after the second title was released, Kingdom Hearts III is right around the corner. This crossover of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy characters and Disney characters alike is one of the reasons it’s so loved and there’s so much more coming our way. With characters from the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen, Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Winnie the Pooh, this game is set to be expansive, and full of lore at every turn. Though the narrative of this action RPG is a little too complicated to discuss quickly, there are plenty of twists and turns in Kingdom Hearts 3, set to enthrall fans of the series and pull in newbies alike. Now whether you’re a fan of Disney movies or you’ve just been waiting patiently for the third game in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, there are plenty of reasons to watch for the latest game this year.
Far Cry New Dawn (February 15)
We’re going back to Hope County, albeit 17 later in a post-apocalyptic world, for a direct sequel to Far Cry 5. Interestingly this will mark the third time we’ve seen back to back releases for the series, though this is the first time we’ve seen something more than just a spin-off evolve out of an already intense narrative. Following the villainous twin sisters Mickey and Lou, Far Cry New Dawn will feature a splash of color and improvised weapons complete with all new environments and gameplay mechanics. Though there’s still a lot we don’t know about Far Cry New Dawn there’s plenty to be excited for.
Jump Force (February 15)
It’s hard to see the success of Super Smash Bros Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch and not imagine a similar outcome for Bandai Namco’s Jump Force. With an abundance of characters, 26 confirmed fighters and 8 set for DLC release, from a variety of popular anime including Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto, this crossover title is setting the bar extremely high. Jump Force brings these fighters into 3v3 battle in huge 3D arenas set to take place in the real world including the snowy alps and Time Square in New York. Honestly, this game is the anime lover’s dream and it’s hard not to wonder why we want to just dive in. Luckily, it’s less than two short months away.
