5. Agent Venom
Venom is a popular character. Having his own movie and a sequel on the way, its no doubt people would love to see Eddie Brock appear in the Avengers game. Whether or not we will see Spider-Man remains to be seen, but Eddie isn’t the only one to have used the symbiote. Flash Thompson had joined the military but was injured in action, losing both of his legs. He was brought in on a secret project and given the Venom symbiote which would restore his legs as long as they were bonded. Renamed Agent Venom and used for black-ops missions, the pair became a lethal and effective soldier who joined the Avengers back in 2011. There are numerous ways to bring Agent Venom into the Avengers game, and giving this iteration of the character the spotlight for once would be a great idea and arguably would blend the best into the current narrative of the game.

4. Firestar
Created for the 1981 Spider-Man TV show, Firestar grew into a hero in her own rights. Not only was she a key member of the New Warriors and soon became a long running member of the Avengers, she would go on to become a teacher at the Jean Grey School in X-Men. Firestar can generate and control microwaves, giving her the power of flight as well as the ability to create intense blasts of heat, light, or radiation. She can super-heat the air around her to create powerful currents of thrust to lift heavy objects, as well as using microwaves to temporarily disrupt psychic attacks. Much like Kamala, Firestar is an eager, lovable character and one who has had a constant supporting affect to whichever team she finds herself on. While flying heroes aren’t in short order on the core Avengers roster, few can manipulate heat and radiation like Firestar.

3. Songbird
Originally a supervillain who has since reformed into a superhero, Songbird has bionically enhanced and altered vocal cords. As her name might suggest, she can generate supersonic screams to varying effects such as matching the decibels of a jet engine as if it were five feet from a persons ear. She has perfect pitch and understanding of every musical note which she can replicate. Her “songs” have been able to cause anxiety, panic attacks, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, headaches, blindness, euphoria, and hallucinations among many other things. She uses technology created by Ulysses Klaw which can turn sound into a malleable form of energy dubbed Solid Sound. Combined with her abilities, she is able to create a variety of objects which – most notably – is often the form of wings to help her glide. Songbird is another character with a fascinating redemption arc and one who would easily step into the role of hero in the absence of the Avengers. Her abilities are incredibly versatile and could provide some truly unique and devastating options.

2. She-Hulk
Jennifer Walters is arguably one of the stand-out characters in the Avengers and fans have been begging for more. An accomplished lawyer, Walters had an unfortunate accident and required a blood transfusion from her cousin – Bruce Banner. The gamma-irradiated blood transformed her, giving her the iconic green skin and making her much taller and incredibly strong, however, she retains all of her intelligence. Not only does she use her newfound powers for good, She-Hulk remains a high-class lawyer and powerful defender of superhumans and often provides them legal counsel. She-Hulk is a rare example of not only brain and brawn, but the fact that her strength is secondary to her character and she embraces her knew physical form for what it is. The Avengers will no doubt have some legal issues in the game and having She-Hulk in your corner feels like a no-brainer.
Alternate Costume: Red She-Hulk
1. Squirrel Girl
Either you love this entry or you hate it, but Squirrel Girl is undeniably a fan favorite. Originally created to make a superhero who was lighthearted and didn’t have a horrid, brooding backstory, Squirrel Girl has made a name for herself by unconventionally defeating some of Marvel’s biggest baddies. Thanos, Doctor Doom, and Galactus have all lost to her. She has defeated Deadpool and Wolverine in combat. Not only can she communicate with and command squirrels, she has a large prehensile squirrel tale, superhuman strength and agility, razor sharp claws, retractable knuckle spikes, and her unique physiology gives her 1,085,000 pounds of biting pressure. Despite her potential for lethal force, she is incredibly wholesome and well-mannered. The Avengers game is no doubt one with a serious tone and tons of action, but if ever there was a truly innocent, heart and soul character who could appear, Squirrel Girl would be the perfect choice. Iconic among Marvel fans, she has appeared in a few minor games before but this could be the big moment fans have been waiting for.
