3 Up, 3 Down – March 2020
March 2020 was a decent month, at least in the gaming world. With a few major releases alongside some other solid games, March 2020 has been the best month for gaming in 2020 so far. However, with the good comes the bad, so let’s take a look at three of the best and three of the worst games of March 2020.
The Best
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Let’s not kid ourselves, Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out at the perfect time. In our current society, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the perfect game to stay home and spend hours on. In our review, we stated: “If you’ve ever had even a whiff of interest in this franchise, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be an absolute slam dunk. Don’t sleep on this one for a second.”
Doom Eternal
Almost in the complete opposite vein of Animal Crossing, Doom Eternal puts players in the role of the Doom Slayer and slay you shall. If you enjoyed the 2016 iteration of Doom, Doom Eternal gives you more of the same, and not in a bad way. In our review, we concluded that “if you’ve got any fondness for shooters, the 90’s, or fun generally, consider Doom Eternal absolutely essential.”
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
The follow up to Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is yet another quality title from Moon Studios. A side-scrolling “Metroidvania” title, Ori and the Will of the Wisps features stunning artwork, fluid controls, and an engaging narrative. In our review, we noted that “Ori and the Will of the Wisps is here, and the sequel to the meteoric indie hit is every bit as powerful, emotional, and entrancing as you would expect it to be.”
