The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024

3 Up, 3 Down – April 2024

April 2024 ended up being another great month for video game releases. There were barely any games to choose as eligible for the Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024. One of those games even scored a 72/100, which isn’t a bad score at all! There was also one surprise in our Good section, along with two of the highest profile releases of the month. Here are the Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024:

The Good

MLB The Show 24

MLB The Show 24 is an excellent baseball game. The visuals and gameplay continue to be a gold standard for all sports games. The only real critique our reviewer had was that there aren’t many changes from last year’s game. Despite this, our reviewer found “as a baseball nerd, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the fresh, little details peppered throughout MLB The Show 24”. It’s high score makes it an easy Good entry in COGconnected’s Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024.

Planet Zoo: Console Edition

Planet Zoo: Console Edition is the biggest surprise success on the Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024. It’s a zoo building simulation game that’s a spin-off of Planet Coaster. What makes Planet Zoo really unique is that it features heavy elements of environmental education. Assuming Planet Zoo follows Planet Coaster’s model, there will be lots more content on the way. Even in the game’s barest form, our reviewer concluded “There are quite a few zoo sims out there… Planet Zoo… is definitely the ultimate game in the genre”.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade delivered! The most anticipated game of April 2024, is also the highest rated game on the Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from April 2024. It’s a stylish action game with light RPG elements. The breadth of its combat options is really impressive, with players being able to fight in different ways depending on their preferences. Our reviewer concluded “with its captivating narrative and cinematic presentation, Stellar Blade is an essential exclusive.”.
