Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Eight Burning Questions For Season 3

7 – Who the #@&!! is Lash?

In Season 3’s first episode, we were introduced to Lash, a huge, scary beast of an Inhuman who is chasing the other Inhumans for some reason.  He seems to have a resemblance to Raina’s “hedgehog” look, with spiky growths on his back, but is much, much larger.  Honestly, he reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog crossed with Predator. He also seems to have powerful abilities, such as the ability to project a death-ray.  Whoever he is, he’s scary enough that even Quake ran away in fear rather than confront him alone.

Clearly, Lash is going to be a major nemesis this season.  But we have almost nothing yet on who he is, or why he is doing these things. I am assuming he isn’t looking to deliver a candy-gram. This is one that we will definitely get answers to very soon, I am sure.

8 – Will Quake and Campell be a “Thing”?

It seems obvious that the show is setting up Campbell to be a close companion to Quake.  He was the one who became her best friend in her early days with the Inhumans, and he seemed to genuinely care about her.  As Season 3 started, he had apparently tried to move on and forget his Inhuman history, posing as a normal, non-powers-having schnook – but that ended this season when Quake and the team came and convinced him that he was better off with them, especially with Lash on his trail.

Will Campbell and Quake become more than just close associates?  I am guessing that they will; the show is missing some sort of “couple” thread now that Hunter and Morse are splitsville, May has gone off with Garner, and Fitz is accepting that Simmons might be gone forever.  Plus, I’m a guy, but even I can tell that this guy is probably pretty “dreamy” to the ladies – hell, they made it even more obvious by making him a doctor of all things.  So, bottom line, we can probably expect to see Quake and Campbell get closer as the season goes on, if my hunch is correct.

Well, those are the 8 burning questions I hope to see more answers to in Season 3.  It will be hard for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to match the intensity of Season 2, but the first episode has set up a new rival organization, a fearsome new nemesis in Lash, and an intriguing mystery in Jemma Simmons’s predicament.  All the pieces are there to make this new story arc just as good as any in the past.

How about you?  What are your thoughts on the show as it enters its third season?
