Loot Crate VS Box – March 2016 – LEVEL UP!
Ah yes the level up… where all the high end goodies are! This month was pretty good with only some minor missteps and even those missteps are more of a personal dislike than a quality issue. Depending on whether you choose socks, t-shirts, wearables or accessories you’ll probably have varying opinions on what’s there but seeing as we received all the goods to review we’ll just sum it all up as a whole.
In the wearables/t-shirts department we had both the long sleeved Captain America: Civil War shirt and the ‘You sank my battleship’ black t-shirt. I really like the long sleeve shirt and the ingenuity of having the words say Captain America one way and Iron Man the other. Kudos to the letterer who pulled that piece of business off. As cool as that is though, it can be a bit tough to read. The battleship shirt is pretty fantastic but certainly won’t appeal to everyone. My wife saw it and proclaimed it was hers before I had a chance to really take it in. That’s a plus.
Accessories for the month were the Batman, Superman,and Wonder Woman hair elastics and the BvS best buddies necklace set. Both from Bioworld made exclusively for Lootcrate. My son was all over the necklaces and after some finagling at the clasp I made them both fully boy-worthy! He gave one to his best pal and they were happy campers. The hair elastics went right to the neighbour who is a nerd of the finest quailty and the look on her face when I gave them to her sold me on how cool they were too.
The crown jewels for the month had to be the socks though. The Shield vs Hydra socks we pretty impressive but the Mario vs Bowser socks were amazing. Super thick, high quality and the most colorful geek footwear I think I’ve ever seen! These socks single handedly keep the score on the upper end of high when it comes to the final verdict.
Verdict
Strong entries in every category keep the score for this month’s Level Up very high. The obvious stands outs this month are the socks, the t-shirts and the wearables but even the accessories hold their own making this a very appealing month.
