The worst beast to have as your personal body guard, Dholes are weaker than other pets but they can scavenge resources for you. Their main perk is the ability to skin and retrieve animal skins and also dig up resources when you’re idle. The perks for this animal aren’t really worth it and I would probably avoid using this pet all together — i’d rather skin the animal myself and take advantage of a more beneficial perk.

The wolf should be your go-to pet before you unlock the skill to tame wild cats. They are fast and have an attack that does reasonable damage but they are weaker. They can uncover up to 350 feet of terrain in front of you and they serve as an early warning by growling when threats are looming. This is the top choice out of the canines.
