5 Reasons Why You Should Be Playing Warframe Right Now

5 Reasons Warframe Should Be on Your List of Games to Play

I have a tendency every so often to jump onto the PSN and check out whatever new DLC or games have been released and see if there is some fantastic deal I somehow didn’t hear about. It was during one of these sessions of digital window browsing that I found a little game called Warframe. Developed by Digital Extremes, I found myself intrigued by the strangely organic yet high-tech looking creatures that graced the games cover art, and so I decided I would give it a look. What I found was an unexpected gameplay experience that is incredibly well put together; I felt like I had stumbled across one of the best free to play games in recent memory. So what makes Warframe so special? Here are 5 reasons to check out this exciting title:

5. The Price Point

Gamers are constantly being bombarded with the latest and greatest title to launch, the next big game plus DLC, plus season pass, and all of that additional content adds up very quickly. So once you see a few gameplay videos of Warframe and decide it’s definitely something to check out you would be surprised to discover it’s actually a free title. While Warframe, like many free games, does offer paid content it isn’t actually necessary to enjoy the game. Paid currency – called Platinum – allows players to instantly buy frames, weapons, color palettes, and more for customizing your Tenno to your heart’s content.  Not a fan of spending money? The in-game credits earned for each mission and selling unused items can be spent to buy blueprints for crafting the same frames and weapons available for purchase, and each mission will see you gather the necessary parts for crafting. In no way is this a pay to play or pay to win situation, and given that this level of digital craftsmanship is free it is a highly attractive advantage to get you started.

4. Multiplayer

Not all missions are created equal, some can be downright brutal, so what do you do in the face of certain death? Team up. Warframe offers several multiplayer options including wave survival modes, standard mission objectives, and a huge hub full of a variety of shops to purchase rare items. At all times players can chat with a simple pop-up menu keeping you connected to the galaxy at large. Probably most impressive is the option to create your own Dojo. You and your friends can have a private space with which to pool your resources and credits and custom build your own dojo to hang out. Rooms can be added and decorated to your tastes. It’s a nice addition to the game and it helps give everyone in the dojo motivation to work together and farm the necessary resources. Not only that, the community has proven to be extremely helpful to one another, coming to aid as soon as possible and even finding the strength in each frame a valuable asset no matter what the mission. There is a sense of camaraderie and understanding amongst players rather than spewing insults and screaming, it definitely has an actual community in the best meaning of the word. With constantly updating galactic events that require every Tenno to band together and keep the enemy at bay, this game has a massive multiplayer aspect.
