10 Xbox 360 Games That Need to Become Backwards Compatible

Under Phil Spencerโ€™s guidance, Microsoft has been able to work their way back into the good graces of gamers after a rocky start to the latest console generation that saw the company focus more on television than video games. One of the big reasons that the Xbox One has gotten back on track was the introduction of backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 titles. Something that I definitely underestimated the appeal of.

Xbox One owners have been ecstatic about getting to replay some of the best games of the last generation of consoles. Games like Red Dead Redemption saw a huge boost in sales once it became available, and several publishers are using backwards compatibility as a way to throw in an added bonus for pre-orders. Itโ€™s been a win-win for both companies and consumers.

Still, there are a ton of great games that havenโ€™t made their way to Xbox One yet. Here are 10 Xbox 360 games that need to become backwards compatible.

Assassinโ€™s Creed Rogue

Assassinโ€™s Creed IV: Black Flag was an amazing game that revitalized a stale series with sea shanties and grog. Naturally, Ubisoft followed up the popular game with a sequel that was exclusively released on the last generation of consoles (despite Black Flag getting released on PS4 and Xbox One). Due to this very smart decision, a lot of people who adored Black Flag never played Assassinโ€™s Creed Rogue. Considering there isnโ€™t a new mainline entry in Ubisoftโ€™s franchise this year, it would make a lot of sense to give Rogue a push by making it backwards compatible.

Blue Dragon

If there has been one genre that the Xbox One has been seriously lacking, itโ€™s Japanese role-playing games. While most western RPGs are coming out on Microsoftโ€™s console, the same canโ€™t be said for their eastern counterparts. That was mostly the story on Xbox 360 as well, as Microsoft hasnโ€™t been able to be successful in Japan, but at least last generation they attempted to succeed by publishing several exclusives. If new JRPGs arenโ€™t going to come to Xbox One, they can at least make old ones like Blue Dragon playable on the system.

Burnout Revenge

Even though Burnout Paradise was confirmed to be coming to Xbox One via backwards compatibility late last year, it still hasnโ€™t happened. While I do love Paradise, I canโ€™t help but hope that Burnout Revenge will get the same treatment. While Paradise was a better game, it changed a lot about what made Burnout really special (although to their credit it still managed to keep the vibe) such as crash mode. Itโ€™d be great to relive the early Xbox 360 classic, even if it will just remind us all that Burnout is tragically gone.
