10 IPs That Would Make Great Telltale Games (That We’ll Probably Never See)

7 – Kingsman: The Secret Service

We know that Telltale’s CEO Kevin Brunner has expressed interest in making a James Bond game, but I feel that picking up on Kingsman: The Secret Service’s popularity via the film would be a solid choice as well. Although the film is loosely based on the comics, Telltale Games could arguably choose which adaptation to follow more closely. Making world-changing choices as a secret agent (along with many pop culture references) would be quite the game.

6 – Alan Wake

The first Alan Wake title on the Xbox 360 was to be the first season of the franchise, and while Remedy Entertainment was working on Alan Wake 2, the title was scrapped in favor of Quantum Break. Having Telltale Games continue the story with their method of storytelling would allow Remedy’s story to continue as well as providing Telltale Games with a worthy horror franchise to dabble in. This marriage appears to be made in heaven given Alan Wake’s strong narrative, a framework for Alan Wake 2, as well as the opportunity for Telltale Games to work on a horror title.

5 – Sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc)

Honestly, this section could be any sports game. I would love to see the type of game Telltale Games comes up with when placed in the realm of sports. We’ve seen how the NBA 2K series features a narrative for its career mode, and it would be interesting to see what could be done with pure storytelling. Players and teams also do not have to be completely licensed, as movies such as The Replacements and Draft Day only utilized a team’s name and produced memorable films. Whether placed in the role of a player, coach, GM, or any other role, this would at the very least generate a lot of interest among fans.

4 – Lego Batman

With Batman: The Telltale Series released to favorable reviews and The Lego Batman movie set to release shortly, I would love to see a Telltale series featuring the Lego Dark Knight. Why Lego Batman? To be honest, it can be any Lego property and it would be amazing. The Lego titles generally do not take themselves too seriously, allowing flexibility with the plot and featuring some clean silly humor (and puns, who doesn’t love puns?). A Lego Telltale series would be a departure from the darker titles that Telltale develops and could attract a younger audience to their storytelling medium.
